Rampage Jackson is full-on insane.

This CBS interview of Rampage Jackson is hard to watch. His explanation for his recent arrest: he was "betrayed" by a friend/family member/employee and proceeded to lose his mind. Too much Red Bull and videos of The Secret pushed him over the deep edge. Roll in some runaway Christianity and you've got a recipe for a lifetime in the mental ward.

Kucinich Rankles Opposing Dems at Debate

I had a dream last night where I wondered about the state of our politicians and why none of them have recently aligned themselves with the founding principals of our nation, of protecting the rights of citizens as put forth by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Aren't we supposed to vote for someone who represents us?

TV: Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern (TRVL)

I tuned into this show because Anthony Bourdain was on the other night (I missed that show, unfortunately). This week's episode was in Morocco as the host, Andrew Zimmern, made his way across the country filling his fat American maw with a number of disgusting meats. I'm no vegetarian, but after watching Andrew snarf down a goat eye, I am seriously considering it.

This guy makes Anthony Bourdain's show look tame, but I suppose that's gonna happen, considering how Bourdain's show really focuses on the places he visits, while Bizzare Foods seems to be about finding the grossest food around the world. It reminds me of the Crocodile Hunter, but for culture and food, not animal conservation.

Mmm. Lamb's Head, Pigeon Pie and Stingray.... Andrew certainly has a talented for descriptions, saying this about Goat Cous Cous: "It's not so much that you can taste the hay and straw in the flesh itself, but if you close your eyes I think you can."

Bizarre Foods is on the Travel Channel at 6PM and 9PM on Monday nights. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Guy Buys Old Farmhouse, Discovers Barn Full of Cars!

Imagine: You buy a farmhouse in Portugal. You find a locked barn on the property. You open it and find this inside.

Talk about a treasure trove. This pic is dark, but there appear to be at least 150 cars in there, many of them classics in excellent condition.

More pics in this link.

Interesting IQ Stats

Here's an interesting graph showing the difference between the intellectual haves and the have nots.

Using Ms. Dewey

I read this article about new search programs, which sent me to Ms. Dewey.

At first, I was charmed by Ms. Dewey. She is fairly attractive, in that ambiguous minority, librarian sort of way. And she's also a bit flirtatious, almost coy.

But even before I start using Ms. Dewey, I'm a bit put off by the notion of doing it. There's something vaguely sexist about this whole thing. It's a bit disturbing. I feel guilty already, and I haven't even asked her any questions yet.

I decide to post about her, because the interface is kind of cool. So I bring up Blogger and leave Ms. Dewey running on another tab in the background.

Within a few seconds, she's making herself persistent. She knocks on the screen and mutters: "Anyone there?"

I switch over and see she's grown annoyed with me.

Already? She's actually copping 'tude!

Soon she whips out a PDA or a notebook, into which she scribbles something juicy, all the while peering at me from behind the cover.

She makes some declaration about ruling the world and gives a sinister laugh.

Soon, she's looking down, as if she's checking out my package, and then she has the nerve to snicker!

Okay, so now this is simply emasculating.

By this point, I haven't asked Ms. Dewey anything at all and she's already gotten sassy, flirty, annoyed, and downright rude with me.

"Hello!" she says. "Type something here," while she points down at the search bar with conviction.

I decide maybe I should just hold off on using Ms. Dewey, for now. I'm afraid her constant chastising has ruined the mood for me.

Cure for Cancer Found, But No One Seems to Care

Apparently, the cure for cancer was discovered last week, but the media is too busy worrying about Hillary's run for the White House. No profit from the discovery means pharmaceutical companies will be unlikely to develop this much-needed cure. Time to whip out the big guns and ask for Bill Gates or Oprah to fund this for humanity.

Apple TV Underhyped

Perhaps more intriguing than the massively hyped iPhone is the release of Apple TV. This is a promising gadget that extends your media from your computer to your TV.

An iPhone is a nice toy, but it doesn't really re-invent the wheel. It's a phone, people! Get over it!

Apple TV, on the other hand, is the true innovation here. It offers viewers the ability to sync all their media between their computers (up to 5) and their TV. The implications of such a device are mindboggling. Every TV show, movie, Mp3, photo, and so on, can be uploaded (wired, or via WiFi) to the Apple TV box, where you can then watch (or listen) on your television. Now think of the fact that this will run you a mere $299. This is clearly an answer to the overbearing cable box that takes a chunk out of your wallet every month. Buy one of these, cut off your oppressive cable (yeah you, Comcast, you thieves), and you can recoup your expenses in a few short months.

My only complaint is the tiny 40 GB drive. Most downloaded movies run about 5 GB, so the Apple TV may be a temporary storage device that only functions to shuttle video, rather than store it. Fortunately, you will also be able to stream media directly from your computers (up to 5 of them), bypassing Apple TV's hard drive entirely.

I've never been a fan of Apple products. Being an avid gamer, I can't conceive of buying a Powerbook and dooming my addiction; but I might have to look more closely at what can be done with Apple TV. Sure, an iPhone will be a nice toy (once I can afford the hefty $499 price for the entry model), but the Apple TV is a killer app that could be more useful to me right now.

The Slanket

According to the website, the Slanket is "a Gigantic fleece blanket with loose, oversized sleeves so you never feel constricted and you have total control of how to use them, while staying toasty ... The slanket is great on a couch, a chair, in a hammock, on your bed or anywhere else you care to take it."

"What the slanket is NOT!!
It is not a poncho!
It is not a Robe!!!!
There is no hole for your head!!!"

Wow, I guess they really don't want us to confuse it with a poncho. Okay, so it's "NOT A ROBE!!!!"

They don't have to be so emphatic about it. Believe me, we'll take their word for it. This actually looks like a cool way to geek out with your laptop while staying under the covers.
